Kaila began her ballet training at the age of 6 and has been training for over 20 years with local and professional companies such as Canton Ballet, BalletMet, and Cincinnati Ballet. She has also performed the lead roles of The Sugar Plum Fairy and Clara in The Nutcracker, Tinkerbell in Peter Pan and danced with GroundWorks Dance Theater.

At the age of 17 Kaila was awarded a scholarship to the Cecchetti Council of America Summer Intensive and has passed level 6 of the Cecchetti exams. She has attended BalletMet’s summer intensive in 2017, Cincinnati Ballet’s Collegiate Intensive from 2021-2023 and a master class with Nureyev State Ballet Theatre .

Kaila trained with Cincinnati Ballet from 2021-2023 under the direction of David Morse, Sarah Hairston Berkley, Zach Grubbs, Ihaiah Miller, and Melissa Gelfin. She has also taken master classes from Victoria Morgan, Cervilio Amador, Tiit Helimets, Kathryn Morgan, Daniel Durrett, and many others over the years.

Kaila is very excited to be creating the Pointe Program at Moxie Dance Academy, to share her knowledge with her students, and to bring more ballet opportunities into her hometown. She has trained specifically in ballet technique, pointe work, ballet terminology, and choreography and enjoys learning about ballet history, variations, and dance injury prevention. She is excited to share her knowledge and passion with her students and help them become well rounded ballet dancers and artists.
