Hanah Moreland
Assistant Director/Competition Director
Hanah began dancing at the age of three and has dedicated her life to the art ever since. She is extensively trained in ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, and tumbling. With over 20 years of experience in the competitive dance world—both as a performer and choreographer—Hanah brings passion and expertise to every stage she steps on.
Most of her early training took place in South Carolina under the guidance of Danyele Gardner at the South Carolina Dance Company. Throughout her youth, she regularly attended dance conventions across the state, deepening her skills and exposure to diverse dance styles. Over the years, Hanah has earned numerous accolades, including first-place overall finishes, “Most Powerful Dancer,” and “Highest Score of the Weekend,” among others. Her choreography has also been recognized with multiple awards, and many of her students have gone on to win top honors at prestigious competitions.
Following high school, Hanah furthered her education at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City. While at AMDA, she studied a wide range of disciplines including jazz, tap, ballet, partnering, theater dance, modern, gymnastics, musical theater, acting, voice, and dance history. She had the opportunity to train under acclaimed instructors who had performed in Broadway productions across the nation.
After relocating to New Philadelphia, Hanah coached the New Philadelphia QT Dance Team for five years. She has been a valued instructor at Moxie Dance Academy for 12 years, and in June 2017, she was named Assistant Director and Competition Director. In this leadership role, Hanah is driven by a mission to elevate the studio’s standard of excellence while building a talented and inspired competition team that shares their love of dance far and wide.
Outside of dance, Hanah is a proud wife to her husband Lucas and a busy mom to three energetic sons. When she’s not in the studio, she enjoys spending time with her family and their two beloved dogs, Bubby and Broski.
