Class Description
Jazz is a fun, energetic way of dance. Jazz consist of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps, and quick turns. It is very similar to a Ballet class, in the sense that we will focus on technique and correct dance terminology. Upbeat music is used in our Jazz classes and we encourage freedom of expression!
-Beginner & Intermediate classes will work on the introduction of Jazz technique. Students in this class will be working towards the execution of a clean single pirouette (both right and left), continuous pique turns, grand jetes, pas de bourree, and continuous chain turns. Introduction to level changes and Jazz choreography will be explored. Proper alignment and coordination skills will be introduced or continued.
-Advanced classes will continue working on Jazz technique and increase the degree of difficulty in tricks and combinations. Strength & Flexibility will be a main focus at this level. Intricate Jazz combinations will be explored and expectations to quickly pick up choreography and term usage are a must.
