Itty Bitty Groovers

Class Description

Itty Bitty Groovers is a great beginner class experience for two and three year-olds, with a parent or dance helper! It is supportive of students who may have a difficult time leaving parents for a short period of time. Our class is specifically designed to allow the students to be able to express themselves through the freedom of movement, expand learning skills and acquire elementary foundational concepts of dance. Coordination, balance and learning to follow directions are some of the basic movement skills that will be explored. Throughout the six week session, we will be focusing on Ballet, Tap and Jazz. Each week, the class will follow an educational-based theme (i.e. shapes, colors) and explore gross motor-based activities. A schedule for each class will be followed. At the end of the six weeks, the students will have been exposed to a short routine, which they may fully perform on the last day of class. We recommend that for each class, the students bring a water bottle for necessary breaks. Please dress comfortably (no jeans) and be sure to have a clean pair of tennis shoes to keep our little dancers safe, and to also protect the floor. It is required that each dancer be accompanied by one dance partner only, both during the class and inside the studio. All other Itty Bitty Groover observers must remain in the lobby. This facilitates our focus and allows us to have more space to move in the studio. The last week of every month will be our “viewing week”, when we invite friends and family to come observe classes through our studio windows.
