Because of her mother’s 2 dance studios in rural Ohio, Shannon has been around dance since before her birth. At the age of 13 she traveled across North America with Hoctor’s Dance Caravan and studied under studio tap great Al Gilbert.

She attended Ohio Northern University where she received her BFA in Musical Theatre and her BME in Music Education with a minor in Modern and Ballet Dance. She has a Master’s Degree in Education from The University of Louisville.

She has since danced in residency with professional companies such as Ballet Memphis, Gus Giordano, LA Jazz Tap Ensemble, River North Dance Company, and The Estonian Ballet. She performed internationally in “With or Without Shoes” at the Estonian Fringe Festival.

She was an elementary music and dance instructor in Louisville Kentucky for 14 years where she taught K-5 music and dance. She also taught successfully at several local dance studios. She teaches jazz, ballet/pointe, contemporary, musical theatre, and tap.

She is excited to join the Moxie Dance Academy!!!!
